To check your TSC registration status, open the official Teachers Service Commission status checker, enter the ID or passport number used in your application, and select Search. The checker is for teacher-registration applications—not recruitment, promotion or transfer applications. Read the result carefully, keep your submission summary, and contact the TSC Teacher Registration unit when the result is unclear, rejected or still unresolved after the official processing period.

Check TSC registration status online
The official TSC registration status checker asks for one detail: the ID or passport number attached to the registration application. You do not need a TSC number, password, OTP or payment to run this check.
What you need before checking
- Your national ID number if you applied as a Kenyan citizen, or your passport number if you applied as a non-citizen.
- The exact identifier used when the application was submitted.
- A stable internet connection and an up-to-date browser.
- Your application summary or registration tracker for reference if you need to contact TSC.
Steps to check your application
- Open the official registration-status page. Confirm that the address ends in tsc.go.ke.
- Enter your ID or passport number exactly as used in the application. Do not add spaces, hyphens or another person’s details.
- Select Search.
- Read the message shown on the screen. Note the wording and date of the check.
- Save a private screenshot or written record if you need to follow up. Hide your ID or passport number before sharing a screenshot with anyone.
Expected result: the page should return the registration record or a status message connected to that identifier. It does not check a teaching-job application. For recruitment applications, use our TSC recruitment portal guide.
Fresh portal check: On 27 July 2026, the official checker loaded successfully and requested an “ID/Passport No”. It did not ask for a password, OTP or TSC number.
How to interpret your TSC registration status
TSC does not provide a public glossary defining every status message that may appear on the checker. Wording can also change as the application moves through internal review. Use the table below as a practical action guide, then follow any exact instruction displayed by TSC.
| Status or message | What it means for you | Action now | When to escalate |
|---|---|---|---|
| No record / no result | The checker has not matched the identifier to a visible application record. | Re-enter the exact ID or passport number. Confirm that you completed and finalised the application rather than only opening or saving a draft. | Contact Teacher Registration if the application was finalised and the same message continues. |
| Pending / in progress | The application has not reached a final registration decision. | Wait, monitor the checker and watch the email address or phone number supplied in the application for an official request. | Follow up when 30 days have passed from final submission, or sooner if TSC has requested information you cannot provide through the portal. |
| Verified | A verification stage appears to have been completed, but this wording alone should not be treated as proof that registration is final. | Continue checking until the portal or an official TSC communication confirms registration and provides the next instruction. | Ask TSC to clarify if “Verified” remains unchanged beyond the stated processing period. |
| Registered / approved / TSC number shown | The application has reached a successful registration outcome. | Record the TSC number safely and follow the certificate instruction shown by TSC. | Contact Teacher Registration if no certificate or collection/delivery instruction is provided. |
| Rejected / not approved | TSC has not approved the application in its current form. | Read the exact reason or communication. Gather the correct document or clarification, but do not create a duplicate application unless TSC instructs you to do so. | Contact Teacher Registration for the official correction or review route. |
| Correction or additional information required | TSC needs a specific change, document or clarification before completing the decision. | Use only the official portal or the channel named in the TSC message. Keep proof of what you submit. | Escalate if the instruction is missing, the upload route is unavailable or the corrected record is not acknowledged. |
Does “Verified” mean you are registered?
A verified TSC registration status should not be read as a final registration certificate unless the checker or an official TSC message also confirms that you are registered. “Verified” may describe a stage in document or record checking. Wait for the final outcome, a TSC number or a certificate instruction before presenting yourself as registered.
What a pending result requires
A pending TSC registration status normally requires monitoring rather than a second application. Check that you finalised the original application and retained the summary page. Do not pay a broker, cyber attendant or social-media contact to “speed up” the status. Only TSC can make the registration decision.
What to do after rejection
A rejected TSC registration status requires an official explanation and an authorised correction route. TSC’s Denial of Registration page lists grounds such as lacking relevant academic or professional qualifications and specified conduct or fitness grounds. The action in your case must still be based on the exact reason TSC gives you—not assumptions from WhatsApp groups or another applicant’s experience.
Do not alter a certificate, affidavit, payment record or identification document. Do not submit another application with different personal details. Contact the registration unit and ask what must be corrected, whether a fresh application is required, and which official channel should receive the correction.
How long should TSC registration status take?
The official TSC registration FAQ says certification takes 30 days, while the Teacher Registration User Manual states that applications for a TSC number are processed within 30 days from the date of submission. Count from the date you saved and finalised the complete application—not from the day you first opened the form, created a draft or made an earlier attempt.
Keep the printed or saved summary because it helps establish that the application was finalised. If your TSC registration status is still pending or unclear after 30 days, use the official contacts below. Give TSC the information needed to locate the application, but never post your full ID, passport, certificates or payment details in a public comment or group.
Important limitation: The current public checker does not publish a case-by-case completion date. It shows the record available for the identifier you enter. TSC—not Teachers Kenya Hub—controls verification, registration decisions and certificate issuance.
How to fix a TSC registration status problem
No result appears after you search
A missing TSC registration status result does not automatically mean rejection. First rule out an identifier or submission problem.
- Confirm you are using the ID or passport number from the original application.
- Remove accidental spaces and check every digit.
- Confirm that the application reached the final summary stage. A saved draft is not the same as a submitted application.
- Try the official checker again using another browser or network.
- If the application was finalised, contact TSC Teacher Registration with your submission date and tracker details.
Your status has not changed
Do not refresh the page repeatedly or submit another application. Record the date and wording, then check at sensible intervals. Once 30 days have passed from submission, call or email the Teacher Registration unit. Ask for the current position of the application and whether TSC requires any further document or clarification.
You notice a mistake in the submitted details
The public status checker is not an editing page. TSC has not published a universal self-service process for changing every type of finalised registration application. Contact Teacher Registration before uploading replacements or opening a second application. Explain the field that is wrong and follow the correction route provided for your case.
For an application that has not yet been finalised, return to the official registration system and review all details before submission. Our separate TSC number application guide covers the first-time application workflow and document preparation.
The portal is unavailable or shows an error
- Check that you opened an official tsc.go.ke address.
- Do not continue if the browser reports an invalid security certificate or unsafe connection.
- Close the page, reopen it from the official TSC Online Services portal, and try again.
- Use a current browser and clear only the affected site’s cached page if an old form keeps loading.
- If the service remains unavailable, keep your evidence and try later or contact TSC.
Contact TSC about registration status
Use the contacts displayed on the official TSC Online Services portal for a TSC registration status query:
| Purpose | Official contact | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Teacher Registration | 020-2892351 | Pending, rejected, unmatched or unclear registration applications |
| Teacher Registration email | teacherregistration@tsc.go.ke | Written registration-status queries and instructions requested by TSC |
| General TSC line | 020-2892000 | Routing a query when the registration contact cannot be reached |
| General email | info@tsc.go.ke | General enquiries; teacher-registration cases should use the dedicated address first |
When contacting TSC, state your full name, submission date, the current TSC registration status wording and your registration tracker if available. Provide an ID or passport number only through the official TSC channel when the officer requires it. Never send a password, OTP, bank PIN or unredacted identity documents through WhatsApp, social media or an unofficial email address.
After successful registration: TSC number and certificate
Under section 28 of the Teachers Service Commission Act, the Commission issues a certificate of registration to every teacher registered under the Act. The public status checker, however, does not explain a single certificate-access method for every applicant.
After a successful TSC registration status result:
- Record the TSC number exactly as displayed or communicated.
- Follow the certificate collection, delivery or access instruction provided by TSC.
- Keep the registration summary, official emails and any certificate-delivery record.
- Contact Teacher Registration if the status confirms registration but gives no certificate instruction.
- Do not download a “certificate” from a third-party website or pay someone to generate one.
Once you are registered and ready to apply for advertised teaching posts, use the TSC recruitment portal guide. For a directory of the Commission’s teacher-facing systems, see our TSC Online Services guide. Teachers who are later placed on payroll can use the TSC payslip and T-Pay guide.
Protect your registration details
- Use only links ending in tsc.go.ke for TSC registration status checks.
- Do not share your ID or passport number in public comments or groups.
- Never disclose a password or OTP to a cyber attendant, TeachersKE or a person claiming to be a TSC officer.
- Redact identity numbers, phone numbers and payment references before sharing a screenshot for technical help.
- Do not bypass browser security warnings. Close the page and start again from the official TSC website.
Frequently asked questions
Can I check TSC registration status using a TSC number?
The official checker currently asks for an ID or passport number. Use the identifier attached to the registration application. A TSC number is normally available only after successful registration.
Does “Verified” mean my TSC number is ready?
Not necessarily. Treat “Verified” as a stage unless TSC also confirms registration, displays a TSC number or provides a certificate instruction.
How many days does TSC registration take?
The official Teacher Registration User Manual states that applications are processed within 30 days from submission. Contact Teacher Registration when that period has passed and the result is still pending or unclear.
Why does the checker say no record?
The ID or passport number may not match the submitted record, the application may not have been finalised, or the record may not yet be visible. Recheck the identifier and your submission summary, then contact TSC if the application was completed.
Should I apply again when my status is pending?
No. Check your TSC registration status again rather than creating a duplicate application, unless TSC specifically instructs you to submit a fresh one. A second application is not the published correction route unless TSC directs you to use it.
Can Teachers Kenya Hub check the status for me?
No. The checker uses your personal identifier, and Teachers Kenya Hub does not collect IDs, passports, passwords, OTPs or application documents. Use the official TSC checker directly.
Use this guide to interpret a TSC registration status result, but treat the live TSC checker and direct TSC communication as the source of truth for your application.
